Ginlong Alternative provided by Hurricane Wind Power partnership

Ginlong Alternative Hurricane Wind Power fights Chinese imports

Ginlong Permanent Magnet Alternators have dominated the research and development scene in American Wind Power. Hurricane Wind Power is proud to announce the end of that era with the new series of Air Boss Axial Flux PMA's

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

PRLog (Press Release) - Sep 21, 2012 -
Wind Power company's developers and entrepreneurs in the United States have imported predominately Ginlong permanent magnet  alternators in recent years.  This has seem to become common industry practice within realm of research and development of new horizontal as well as vertical wind turbine air foils. According to Anthony Jones, owner of Hurricane Wind Power, it is commonplace for us to receive calls from developers of new wind power systems in the United States that have invested vast amounts of resources in terms of capital and man hours and come short delivering a viable product due to lack of customer support, inferior products, and being sold improper products for intended applications due to communication barriers with vendors.

As a result Jones stated Hurricane and AERCO have pooled their resources to provide an alternative to importing to the American wind power developer, as well as a solid product for consumers worldwide. The Air Boss generator can be built to a customers specification and data provided that will be utilized to maximize the efficiency of any given airfoil or power input device. This gives  our customers the best chance to be successful in the global marketplace with their inventions and end products.

Jones went on to say that the key piece that has been missing is the customer service element. Barriers and the complexity of communication that must take place between a wind power company or investor and team of engineering technicians plays a huge role. This is where Hurricane and Aerco are making the connection and making things happen in a big way. Anyone can sell a generator and put it in a box and wash there hands of the transaction. The key to building a long term successful company is the service after the sale, something Jones said the Hurricane Aerco partnership has an edge over Ginlong. "Customers do not have to stay up until 3:00 AM to attempt to Skype China. We are there and involved sometimes to the extent it requires boots on the ground.

This past week the company was proud to have dispatched AERCO engineering technician Gary Brown 1500 miles round trip to assist partner Steve LaCasse owner of Intelligent Energy Solutions in Florida to collaborate and assist with assurance of data integrity for submission to the National Research Energy Laboratory for his new high efficiency wind turbine design. The Air Boss line of PMA's are based on time tested Axial Flux generator technology and are currently available in 1.4 and 2.8 KW designs. Plans for expansion to 10 KW in the near future are already underway. The Air Boss line can be seen at  http://www.hurricanewindpower.com

Axial Flux Alternators Hurricane Wind Power Reviews"Air Boss" Generators

Hurricane Wind Power Reviews Wind Power performance and The Axial Flux Permanent Magnet Alternator, PMA, APMA or Generator depending which you prefer. We are not really the uppity type here and will not spill the ink to correct anyone who wants to call it what they will.....The spinny think that makes the power is completely fine with us and that's how we want to keep it. One of my biggest turn offs with the "wind power" business is the constant elitist bantering. We will keep it simple and please check the egos at the door. That includes my own and we are receptive to feedback. Which is why when I have been fortunate enough to work with the folks at AERCO American Energy Research Company we at Hurricane have been receptive to the idea of others and may I say they are some very talented people. They put their heart and sole into bring off their lines a 100 percent quality controlled products that we are happy to partner with to proliferate the Axial Flux Permanent Magnet technology to the public as what we call the "Perfect Storm" in more ways than one at Hurricane. All of the right pieces of the puzzle had to come together and the result is a team that produces a product more efficient, powerful, and reliable than traditional radial designs on the market. In summary just say no to imports, pulleys, chains, gears, and redneck engineering.....no offense we love them to.

In the past few years I have spent countless hours spending time with entrepreneurs developers and airfoil designers who want only one thing. An inventors series PMA that performs superior to the Ginlong and does not have to be ordered from China. They want to know they when they order a product that if the hours of research and development they have put into the project passes their testing that they will be able to bring their dream to fruition. With the " Air Boss"will do just that and it is quite that simple. If a machine will turn 140 RPM and produce 45 ft/lb of torque the the power generated will be 1.4 KW. If you have a Application powerful enough to produce the 90 ft/lb of torque then you have a 2.8 kw machine. That simple ...signed sealed delivered guaranteed MADE IN USA. This is the only the beginning and and we anticipate scaling up to 10 KW within the year. The massive diameter"relative to other units" which lends to a greater speed as the rotor passes the stator coils almost makes this unfair....well  almost
AIR BOSS Axial Flux Permanant Magnet Alternator Generator

On a sad not I have to advise the sonsumers on Hurricane Wind Power...if your Airfoil, VAWT, Wind Turbine, Cabage Shooter, or any other contraption even if conceptualized by Wylie Coyote himself will not product enought power measure in Ft/lb's, Newtons,  ect  to produce 1400 watts.....the Air Boss will not perform a magic trick. 45 Ft lb and 140 RPM or 90 will bring 1.4 and 2.8 KW as previously mentioned...just a reminder here

Other Services Available

INVENTOR SERIES

  • As an additional part of our Inventor Series products and services we now can supply custom air core axial style stator coil windings.
  • These are produced on our semi-automated coil winder ensuring turn count, wire tension and volume consistency.
  • Coils from 14 gauge to 26 gauge can be manufactured using a customer supplied former (mold required for coil) or one fabricated to customer specifications by the AERCO R&D department.
  • Coils are shipped only after passing several quality assurance tests and are bar coded as a matched set.
  • Individual specifications sheets describing each coil’s measured characteristics are shipped along with your order.
  • To produce quality axial permanent magnet alternators you must start with the most consistently wound and perfectly matched set of windings available.
All this, at a small set up fee and a low winding labor cost per coil. Why spend hours building a manual winder that virtually prohibits the production consistent windings due to the inability to maintain constant tension over the entire count?

Hurricane Wind Power Reviews Power Ratings

Hurricane Wind Power reviews power ratings seeks level playing field

Hurricane Wind Power reviews power ratings seeks level playing field

In the past few years the wind turbine industry, from the commercial side, the "home brew" community do it yourself ethisiasts and the "scammers" have found themselves at odds.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

PRLog (Press Release) - Sep 07, 2012 -
Hurricane Wind Power owner Anthony Jones announced today that after reviewing the state of the wind energy industry power rating that all Hurricane Wind Power products will now report data on all wind turbines and permanent magnet alternators, PMA's or generators in several new and comprehensive formats. In the past few years various groups have created customer confusion and a lack of confidence in purchasing wind power products.

Methods of rating wind power products have existed on a continuum of outright lies to bending the truth in order to make a product look good according to Jones .  The state of wind power performance reporting has become a farce, which Hurricane wishes to distance itself from. Jones spoke of a California based company which rates its wind turbines at 1500 watts but is careful to put in the qualifier that this output was rated at 70 mile per hour winds, "This is ridiculous" the  National Renewable Energy Laboratory and widely respected organizations such as the American Wind Energy Association have clearly stated that the rated wind speed for output  is 11 meters per second  or 24.6 miles per hour.

Jones went on to explain that in the past few years the "do it yourself" movement in wind power often expressed power output represented simply by measuring open voltage multiplied by shorted amps that estimated a power output at a given generator RPM. These methods are outdated and Hurricane is adhering to the standard of the AWEA and NREL with its wind turbines. As well Jones went on to state that instantaneous ratings which can be most easily understood as a "flash" power rating or power that is not sustained  should not be used as a rated power output either. Some companies even on the commercial level as American Wind Energy Association members still advertise instantaneous output ratings as their "rated performance".  PMA's from Hurricane will also carry expected wattage output from  Newton Meters or Foot Lbs torque input from the source or airfoil

In the poor economic state of the nation as well as worldwide Jones expressed the sentiment that while sales may be lost in the short term due to the flashy high watt output ads of some.  He is confident a long term solid business model should be founded upon the principles of openness,  honesty,  trust and consumer confidence.  In uncertain time people must know that the performance for the money or ROI return on investmentmakessense.Visit us at http://www.hurricanewindpower.com ;

The Hurricane Wind Power Reviews the Flexcharge NC 25 A 12 VOLT. The Flexcharge series of controllers has been on the market for a long time and work great for small systems. While they do not have many of the sophisticated feature that more modern controllers have their cost and simplicity make them a first round pick. These controller are great to use in harsh environments where the elements play a role the Flexcharge controller have a time tested service records and are hard to beat. While they do not allow for adjustment by the customer between 12 , 24, or 48 volts, they do come in all 3 models.

For Hurricane Wind Power reviews the most impressive feature of this product is its simplicity. The more circuits and exposed board there are the more that can go wrong. Should We Harvest a Natural Resource - Wind Power?

In today's economy, with increasing use of electricity and natural resources, the possibility of a low-cost, inexhaustible and dependable energy source is seen by consumers as a breath of fresh air in a stale environment. That's where wind power cost comes in. According to the Department of Energy, contemporary wind power turbines can convert winds in most U. S. states and coastal waters into certain, clean electricity. While wind today supplies only a small percentage of our national electricity demands, it is a tremendous energy resource and is the fastest-growing energy supply technology available.
There are solutions to the worlds power problems that can be simply employed and evolved to their fullest and most efficient for future use. Solar power is beginning to make excellent headway in technology and application as are other alternative renewable energy solutions. One of these choices is wind power turbine energy, a source of uninterrupted clean energy that is actually making great advancement in cutting coal power demand where it is being utilized. The only negative here is the 24 hour need for wind flow.
The basics of electricity production through wind farms is pretty simple. Highly efficient wind power turbines are situated in positions where they will receive the maximum amount of wind energy. Regardless, the wind turns the blades as it passes, which turns a generator within the wind power turbine. The turning motion converts the wind energy into electricity when the generator cranks, and this power is then fed into a utility company power grid.
A wind power turbine used for making electrical energy is not all that difficult a thing to handle. It is very much like the water wheels that past generations used to grind their grain to produce flour. The only difference is that instead of using water to turn the water wheel wind power is used. The wind makes the blades of the wheel turn which; with the help of some gears, magnets and resistance creates electricity. As the speed of the wind turning the wind power turbines increases the amount of power the turbine produces increases as well. Unfortunately, at this point the energy generated from the wind power turbine is difficult to store in batteries, so there is a need for back-up systems but, for the most part, it is a fairly efficient system.
Location.
Wind energy is the fastest growing source of power of any of the inexhaustible energy sources and technologies. In areas where winds are strong, inexhaustible wind power cost is low and therefore is a smart choice for providing residential wind power to homes and businesses. The point about not being able to store the generated energy in batteries for later use puts quite a bit of emphasis on where the wind power turbines are situated. Since the energy that is generated demands to be input into the power grid and used right away, the turbines need to be based in a place where the wind is always blowing and wind power costs will be low. One might think, well that shouldn't be that difficult. The turbine needs to be situated where there is a constant and steady wind most of the time, but it also demands to be based in a place where quite a few wind power turbines can be located. The goal is to find locations where wind exists as frequently as possible to keep wind power costs low.
Put in realistic terms, ideal spots are in areas where ground variation occurs as wind is produced when different surface areas heat up at different rates. As each surface heats up, the air rises and cooler air rushed in to replace it. Thus, we have wind. Given this situation, ideal positions for wind power turbines are often along shorelines or in valleys funneling winds from the shore.
The current issue is that one turbine generates quite a bit of energy, but not enough energy to make wind power cost acceptable. A considerable number of wind powered turbines need to be in place to make this happen. There are many places around the world where this is possible, but the overall concept is regional in nature. In other words, the power made in an area, stays in that area to some degree. This is not generally a bad thing since the area gets some benefit as an offset to the trouble of hosting the turbines and putting up with endless wind. Localities can derive a nice chunk of their power from the wind powered turbines which diminish the need to use coal ,oil or gas power as in other places.
On an individual basis, even if you don't live in a windy area, you can still supplement your current electricity supply by employing inexhaustible wind energy. The best part is by using do-it-yourself guides; even the least skilled handymen can build their own windmills and start using inexhaustible wind energy to lower their electricity bills each month. However, if you do live in an especially windy area you can feasibly generate an abundance of electricity from renewable wind energy systems.
Smaller wind systems are being used to generate on-site power and provide additional power to local utilities, and the market is expanding at over 20 percent annually. However, wind powered turbines represents more than just competitive electricity. It offers: rural economic profits from project development; a hedge against changeable natural gas prices and planned use of imported liquid natural gas; cost-effective clean air compliance option for businesses and communities; strong future partner for other domestic power industries including coal and nuclear; and an inexhaustible option for producing hydrogen for transportation fuels. Wind energy is a homegrown energy source that can contribute to national energy security by shrinking a countries dependence on oil and natural gas, most of which are imported from other countries. In addition, unlike most other electricity sources, wind power turbines don't consume water.
Construct It But Not Near Me
The unique problem of people not desiring to look up at or listen to wind power turbines all day every day has become a bit of an issue. Where the issue is likely to be decided is in more urban areas where the use of wind turbines is just commencing to creep in. As vocal suburbanites hear about suggested turbine wind farms, they all-of-a-sudden decide they are fine with wind power cost but don't want to look at multiple turbines within their sight on a mountain top, coastal shoreline or in their virtual back yard.
People may become vocal about not desiring to see or hear wind power turbines on a daily basis, but they need to picture that alternative power sources are here to stay. They had better think hard about their needs and how they are going to come to terms with the issue on a personal basis. Power up with solar, wind, water or nuclear because preferring a source sooner rather than later may be the best way to go. It is definitely worthwhile to learn more about inexhaustible wind power costs. By building your own wind powered turbines you can add needed dollars to your pocket and help the environment at the same time. Inexhaustible wind energy. Free power from the wind. The future for our planet and our economy.

Political Tide Turning Against Large Scale Wind Power ?

he wind energy industry has been having a hard time. The taxpayer funding that has kept it alive for the last twenty years is coming to an end, and those promoting the industry are panicking.

Perhaps this current wave started when one of wind energy’s most noted supporters, T. Boone Pickens, “Mr. Wind,” in an April 12 interview on MSNBC said, “I’m in the wind business…I lost my ass in the business.”

The industry’s fortunes didn’t get any better when on May 4, the Wall Street Journal (WSJ) wrote an editorial titled, “Gouged by the wind”, in which they stated: “With natural gases not far from $2 per million BTU, the competitiveness of wind power is highly suspect.” Citing a study on renewable energy mandates, the WSJ says: “The states with mandates paid 31.9% more for electricity than states without them.”

Then, last week the Financial Times did a comprehensive story: “US Renewables boom could turn into a bust” in which they predict the “enthusiasm for renewables” … “could fizzle out.” The article says: “US industry is stalling and may be about to go into reverse. …Governments all over the world have been curbing support for renewable energy.”

Michael Liebreich of the research firm Bloomberg New Energy Finance says: “With a financially stressed electorate, it’s really hard to go to them and say: ‘Gas is cheap, but we’ve decided to build wind farms for no good reason that we can articulate.’” Christopher Blansett, who is a top analyst in the alternative-energy sector in the Best on the Street survey, says, “People want cheap energy. They don't necessarily want clean energy.”

It all boils down to a production tax credit (PTC) that is set to expire at the end 2012. Four attempts to get it extended have already been beaten back so far this year—and we are only in the fifth month. The Financial Times reports: “Time-limited subsidy programmes…face an uphill battle. The biggest to expire this year is the production tax credit for onshore wind power, the most important factor behind the fourfold expansion of US wind generation since 2006. Recent attempts in Congress to extend it have failed.”

According to the WSJ, “The industry is launching into a lobbying blitz.” The “2012 Strategy” from the American Wind Energy Association includes:

  • “To maximize WindPAC’s in?uence, WindPAC will increase the number of fundraisers we hold for Members of Congress.”

  • “Continue the Iowa caucus program to ensure the successful implanting of a pro-wind message into the Republican presidential primary campaign.”

  • “Respond quickly to unfavorable articles by posting comments online, using the AWEA blog and twitter, and putting out press releases.”

  • “Continue to advocate for long term extension of PTC and ITC option for offshore wind.”

  • “AWEA requested a funding level of $144.2 million for FY 2012 for the Department of Energy (DOE) Wind Energy Program, an increase of $17.3 million above the President’s Congressional budget request.”

A wind turbine manufacturer quoted in the Financial Times article says, “If the PTC just disappears, then the industry will collapse.” Regarding United Technologies plans to sell its wind turbine business, chief financial officer Greg Hayes admitted: “We all make mistakes.”

Despite twenty years of taxpayer funding, according to the Financial Times, “Most of these technologies are unable to stand on their own commercially, particularly in competition with a resurgent natural gas industry that has created a supply glut and driven prices to 10-year lows.” The WSJ opines: “the tax subsidy has sustained the industry on a scale that wouldn’t have been possible if they had to follow the same rules as everyone else.” A level playing field would mean that wind developers would lose the exemptions from environmental and economic laws.

It is the fear of having to play by “the same rules as everyone else”—like the free market does— that must have propelled the anti-fossil fuel Checks and Balances Project to dig deep to unearth a “confidential” document. The brainstorming document was designed to trigger conversation during an initial meeting of grassroots folks with a common goal—the document’s author didn’t even join us and his ideas received little attention. The meeting was February 1 and 2. I was there. But suddenly, on May 8, our little meeting is in the news.

Many of us who were at the meeting received calls from a variety of publications including The National Journal, The Washington Times and Bloomberg News—none of whom ran with the story (after talking to a number of us, the Bloomberg reporter concluded “I don't think we're writing a story about this”)—and The Guardian who did. The Guardian story was picked up and expanded on in Environment & Energy (the reporter did talk to several of us), HuffPost, Tree Hugger, Think Progress’ Climate Progress, and others. (Note: Climate Progress and Tree Hugger remove any comment in opposition to wind energy as soon as it is posted.) From there, some form of the story is all over the Internet.

The wind energy industry panic explains the sudden interest, but why our little group?

Washington Examiner columnist, Timothy Carney, provides the answer: “AWEA plans ‘continued deployment of opposition research through third parties to cause critics to have to respond,’ the battle plan states. In other words: When people attack AWEA's subsidies, AWEA might feed an unflattering story on that person to some ideological or partisan media outlet or activist group.” We are the people who have attacked the subsidies and AWEA has, through a “third party” fed “an unflattering story” to a “partisan media outlet.” Our collaborative actions have helped block the PTC extension efforts.

A common thread in the news stories is that we are really an oil-and-gas funded entity. They’ve tied us to the Koch Brothers. We all wish. Apparently they can’t believe that individuals and local groups can think for themselves and impact public policy without a puppet master telling us what to do and say.

In fact, the group has no funding. As we began to email back and forth over the sudden reporter interest, one meeting attendee quipped: “My trip was funded, in part, by MY brother, Paul, who donated frequent flyer miles for my trip. I can assure you that my brother is not part of the Koch family. I paid for the rest of the trip out of my own pocket.” Yet, the reporters seemed determined to find a funding link. I told the Bloomberg reporter that we each paid our own way, that the meeting was held in a budget hotel outside of DC (unlike the AWEA meeting held at the prestigious La Costa Resort & Spa in Carlsbad, CA), and that we each had to pay for our own transportation, food, and lodging. My comments never made it into print. In the spirit of full disclosure, I am the executive director of companion organizations that do receive funding from oil and gas companies and individual donors. But I, like the others, was invited as an individual, not as a member of any organization.

Additionally, we are not even a formal group. We met to consider forming a group. The “leaked” memo, addresses finding a group that might absorb us, affiliate with us, or align with us.

Attendees brought their individual issues, observations, and successes. Each had valid insights to contribute. Some viewed health impacts as the most important ammunition. Others, economics. Some, setbacks or bird deaths or land use. Others, including the meeting’s organizer, John Droz, believe that the science—or lack thereof, is the best weapon. There are so many reasons to oppose wind that come down to government use of taxpayer money to support something that raises electricity prices based on the failed concept of man-made global warming. As a result of the meeting, we now know we are not alone, and we can call on one another for insight and advice.

We owe a debt of gratitude to Gabe Elsner, a co-director of the Checks and Balances Project. Without his discovery and subsequent exposure of the “document,” we’d still be just loosely affiliated individuals and small citizens’ groups. The attack has emboldened us and helped others find us! A representative from the Blue Mountain Alliance sent Droz an email stating: “I probably need to send them a thank you note for leading me to you and your efforts.”

After the murmurings became known, one of the meeting attendees, Paul Driessen, wrote a detailed and data-filled column, “Why we need to terminate Big Wind subsidies,” which has garnered more than 700 Facebook “likes” on Townhall.com. (To give perspective, I am pleased if I get 50 “likes.” Each “like” generally represents thousands of readers.) In just a few days, his column is all over the Internet.

Wind energy has more opposition than most people realize, and Elsner, who has served as the “third party” in the AWEA strategy, has allowed us to find one another. While a few attendees at the DC meeting were concerned about all the publicity, attorney Brad Tupi, who has represented citizens victimized by wind energy projects, responded: “I would plead guilty to participating in a meeting of concerned citizens opposed to wasteful, unproven, inefficient wind energy. I would agree that we are interested in coordinating with other reputable organizations, and I personally would be honored to work with Heartland Institute and others.”

If you do not support industrial, tax-payer-funded, wind-energy projects that are promoted based on ideology and emotion rather than facts and sound science, you can benefit from our affiliation. Droz has a wonderful presentation full of helpful information. A few of the websites from the meeting attendees include: Illinois Wind Watch, Coalition for Sensible Siting, Energy Integrity Project, and Citizen Power Alliance.

The lesson to be learned from the attack on these hard-working citizens is that the little people can make a difference! We’ve got the subsidy-seeking, wind-energy supporters running scared—along with the crony capitalism that accompanies them. Remember, “If the PTC just disappears”—meaning if we do not keep giving them taxpayer dollars—“then the industry will collapse.” Your phone call or email to a Senator or Congressman, such as Steve King or Dave Reichert who recently came out in support of the PTC, can make a difference. Tell them, as the WSJ said, “If the party is serious about tax reform…it will vote to take wind power off the taxpayer dole.”

It is time for the AWEA and the politicians who support the PTC to explain why higher electricity costs, human health impacts, substantial loss of property values in rural communities, dead bats and birds, and increased national debt are good for America and her taxpayers!

Trying to kill renewables?

Part of Barack Obama’s 2012 presidential campaign focuses on slowing global climate change through clean energy support.
At a time when the climate is expected to rise more than 2ºC this century, renewable energy is getting a fair share of attention in the hopes of combating that change.
But several conservative organizations, including the think tank American Tradition Institute (ATI) are starting a war on renewable energy.
They call themselves “wind warriors.”  And at a Washington DC convention last year, they discussed a proposal to combat the campaign for solar and wind power.
Senior ATI fellow John Droz Jr. claims to have organized the proposal and convention on his own, though Americans for Prosperity and the American Legislative Exchange Council (ALEC) have been involved in fighting the energy campaign as well, and the groups could be working together.
Peter Kelley of the American Wind Energy Association believes it is a cooperative effort:
“We do see evidence of co-ordination.  The same rhetoric pops up all over the place.  Things that are disproven, that are demonstrably untrue, continually get repeated.”
The groups have acted in buying up billboards to post anti-wind messages, looking to spend as much as $6 million on advertising, and they want to overturn renewable energy requirements at utilities.
They’ve spread word that the technology, particularly for wind energy, is not yet viable.  Many of the groups, coincidentally, are tied to fossil fuel companies.
But is it really a matter of the climate issues, or is it the presidential race? Kert Davies of Greenpeace thinks it’s mainly against Obama:
“They are going back to the states to create the space for an anti-Obama, anti-green energy thing.  It is really a political attack.  What the right wing wants to perpetuate is that this is a type of energy that never works and requires massive government handouts.”
It really comes down to cost and what we are able to use.  Marita Noon, who attended the DC conference, thinks that “to use more and pay less” is “the American way.”  That’s how it should be, and that’s what she’s fighting for.
But that’s what’s hurting the climate in the first place and what renewable energy companies are fighting against.

Not Everbody is for Wind Power

EPA says nuts to coal, while McDonnell embraces the wind
By Norman Leahy | Tuesday, March 27th, 2012 | Economics Policy Virginia

Two very different, but equally troubling, developments on the energy front today…
One is that the Environmental Protection Agency has decided to go ahead with new regulations that “…analysts said would effectively ban new coal-fired stations unless they use carbon-capture technology, which hasn’t yet been proven cost-effective.
So for all those folks living and working in Virginia’s coal country: nuts to you. And to the consumers of electricity generated by coal plants? It’s time to rediscover the joys of candle light.
Another comes from the McDonnell administration, which in a press release touts the “…proposed construction of a 479-foot-tall, five-megawatt wind turbine generator prototype in the lower Chesapeake Bay, three miles off the Eastern Shore town of Cape Charles.”
In the release Gov. McDonnell is quoted as saying:
“This step forward holds tremendous potential for jobs and for economic development here in the future. Virginia’s unique and efficient permitting process adopted for small energy projects like this one was a critical factor in Gamesa’s choice of Virginia as the location for this U.S. wind energy operation, and today we see the fruit of these proactive policies.”
Gamesa, for those wondering, is a Spanish company that has hit a bad patch recently as European governments, owing to their debt problems, have had to stop writing checks to wind energy firms. Then again, our own government seems quite willing for the moment, to keep writing those checks. Or at least big wind is keen on having it do so.
But let’s dig a bit into the Governor’s contention about the “tremendous potential for jobs and economic development.” According to Glenn Schleede, that’s simply not true
“Wind farms” have very high capital costs and relatively low operating costs compared to generating units using traditional energy sources. They also create far fewer jobs, particularly long-term jobs, and far fewer local economic benefits. “Wind farms” are simply a poor choice if the goals are to create jobs, add local economic benefits, or hold down electric bills.
Poor choices seem to be in high favor these days.
But part of this stems from the muddled thinking that goes along with the embrace of an “all of the above” approach to energy. The Obama administration says it’s for “all of the above,” except when it includes coal, nuclear and oil.
Republicans tend to like the concept because it gives them a green energy patina. Nevermind the details, or the costs, we’re for it.
Unless “it” is uranium, in which case Virginia pols of both parties tend to run for cover.
As I noted over a year ago, “all of the above” is little more than rent seeking from the right. It’s a sad bit of sloganeering that includes everything — from oil to algae — for its own sake, regardless of how much the energy costs, how difficult it is to obtain, or whether a market exists for it.

Anybody need a Wind Turbine? Your power bill just went up!

The Environmental Protection Agency is imposing strict standards on new power plants. Praised by environmentalists, the limits on emissions of carbon dioxide are meant to reduce greenhouse gases.  Tuesday, 9th District Congressman Morgan Griffith said they're part of a continuing war on coal that will hurt the region.

The new rules won't affect existing plants, but they will place strict limits on any new facilities fired by coal. And that says Griffith should concern the people of southwest Virginia

"I think it will have an impact on our utilities and particularly  I think it will have an impact on jobs, you know, all of the coal jobs in the region," Griffith told WDBJ7 in a satellite interview Tuesday afternoon, "Norfolk Southern which hauls the coal, CSX which hauls the coal. and I think the industries that have to pay the price of this war on coal that the Obama administration has."

Environmental groups say the new regulations have been a long time coming, and represent a step forward.
"Obviously we would like stronger standards," said Glen Besa, Virginia Chapter Director of the Sierra Club, "but we believe the EPA has taken a responsible approach to adopting these health standards and there is an opportunity here for the industry to prove the clean coal technology that they've been ballyhooing for some time."
Griffith says he will continue to fight regulations he believes are intended to end the use of coal in the United States. He says coming elections will ultimately decide if they stand

China's State Grid in talks to buy AES' U.S. wind assets:sources

More Chinese influence in the American  wind turbine market

BEIJING (Reuters) - State Grid Corp of China has had talks with U.S. power firm AES Corp about taking a controlling stake in its U.S. wind power business, three sources said, as China's cash-flush state-owned power companies go on an overseas buying spree.
It wasn't clear how much State Grid would pay for the assets or how the business would be structured after the sale. Based on analysts' estimates, the assets could be worth around $1.65 billion.
The deal involves wind power assets with capacity of around 1,100 megawatts (MW) and would give State Grid a roughly 80 percent stake in AES's U.S. wind power business, sources with direct knowledge of the matter told Reuters. It would be State Grid's first foray into the United States.
The sources declined to be named as they were not authorized to speak with the media.
China's cashed up state power groups have been scooping up bargains, with dominant power distributor State Grid establishing a presence in the Philippines, Brazil and Portugal.
One driver for such deals is a tightly regulated Chinese market that holds down profits for power firms, said Shi Pengfei, vice president of the Chinese Wind Energy Association.
"Because domestic electricity prices are controlled by the government, expanding overseas could help power companies' profits," said Shi.
The company's president Liu Zhenya visited the United States earlier this month as part of a delegation accompanying Chinese Vice President Xi Jinping. Two of the sources said the companies signed an agreement during that trip, but the third source said a deal is still at the negotiation stage.
"The specific details of the American wind power project are still under negotiation," said that source, who is familiar with the talks.
AES Wind Generation, a wholly-owned part of AES Corp, operates more than 1,800 MW of wind power generation capacity in the United States, China and Europe. Of that, nearly 1,346 MW is in the United States, according to the company's website.
The company has wind power assets in Texas, California, Oregon, Minnesota, Iowa, West Virginia and Pennsylvania.
Arlington, Virginia-based AES, which has a market value of $10.5 billion, did not immediately respond to requests for comment, and State Grid's media official declined to comment when reached by phone.
Any deal would need both Chinese and U.S. regulatory approval.
Since the failure of China's state oil firm CNOOC's bid to buy California rival Unocal in 2005, few Chinese companies have tried to buy U.S. conventional energy assets.
There have been some U.S.-China energy deals since then, but a successful deal by State Grid would represent a significant step for China's efforts to enter the U.S. power market.
On February 22, the Chinese company signed a deal to buy a 25 percent stake in Portuguese power grid operator REN for around $508 million. In December 2010, it bought seven Brazilian power transmission companies with investments totaling nearly $1 billion.
In January 2009, a consortium led by State Grid took over the operation of the Philippine power grid after winning an auction for a 25-year operation license for $3.95 billion.
AES, in which sovereign wealth fund China Investment Corp holds a 15 percent stake, recently kicked off a process to sell all or part of its businesses in China, a deal that could raise $300-400 million, sources have told Reuters.

Diversion loads

There are many diversion or dump loads available today on the market but What make a good diversion or dump load? Dc water heating element by Hurricane is an excellent diversion load because one a water heater element shouldn't burn out. Your wind turbine must remain under a load in order not to damage it. This way you utilize excess power in a constructive way while not using an item such as light bulb....yes I have heard of people doing this that goes poof and the wind generator has no more load which can lead to damage.

Home Wind Power To do or not to?

Wind power and wind power kit - An explanation
Several factors of ecology contribute to the generation of wind energy. The earth's surface is not even, and as such, the sun rays heat up the surface in unequal amounts, resulting in differences in temperature between areas. Now, the air thus heated is lighter and moves up, creating a vacuum below. This space is soon taken up by cooler air from nearby areas. This movement of air (upwards and convectional) is defined as wind, and the energy generated by the process is kinetic (i.e., motional) energy. Wind energy is obtained by tapping this kinetic energy, and converting them by mechanical means. Wind power can be used to generate electricity for homes. A wide array of wind power generation tools is available for this purpose. These tools are termed home wind power kits.
Beneficial features of home wind power kits:
The present day world is witnessing a sharp escalation in the prices of conventional sources of energy. The latter often have harmful polluting effects on the atmosphere as well. As such, wind power is being thought of as an ideal alternative energy. Industries of different types all over the world have started to utilize wind power. Hence, the wind power kits that help to harness the wind energy are also gaining rapidly in demand. The sophisticated and dynamic technology ensures that such usage of wind power is cost-effective and convenient. Adding to its advantages, are the facts that it does not pollute the air, and is freely renewable in nature. The home wind power kits are being used by a growing number of people for regenerating the electricity that they possess. Of course, adequate information about these kits is required prior to their usage, and one needs to be a tad patient about it. However, keeping in mind the many benefits of these kits, this is hardly a tough ask.
In general, a properly installed home wind power kit helps individuals cut down on your electric expenses by at least fifty percent. A reduction of about ninety per cent in these bills is possible too, if the wind energy kit is extremely efficient in working. In addition, some surplus amount of electricity can also be generated, provided the house is at a favorable place. This surplus electricity can be sold to utility owners in exchange of money too. The mechanism of working of the wind turbines is rather simple as well. A rotor is provided, to which two or three blades are fixed. Then, this rotor is fitted to the main shaft. Electricity is produced by spinning a generator. This task is performed by the shaft. These turbines typically require smooth, uninterrupted and strong wind supplies. Hence they are generally placed at elevated areas (about 30 meters/100 feet from the ground level). This would ensure good performance of the turbines.
Potential gains and losses from home wind power kits
Wind power is way cheaper when compared to other traditional sources of power. Hence, wind power kits are growing more and more popular as greater numbers of people are starting to prefer wind energy over other energy sources. Using wind power holds out many added advantages, including significant reduction in electric charges, stopping any unnecessary wastage of power, and helping to sustain the environmental balance by ensuring zero pollution of the atmosphere. Compared to the many advantages of wind power kits, their disadvantages are almost non-existent and that is why they have become so popular.
The immense benefits of the wind power kits, even over the long run, tends to offset the initial amount that has to be paid for setting up these kits. Although on the higher side, these rates are actually reasonable, particularly if one compares with the disadvantages of other sources of power. The home wind power kits also often come with instruction manuals, so as to ease the process of installing these kits. Services of technically equipped personnel and/or comprehensive installation guides are provided by several dealers as well. With more and more people becoming aware of the many benefits, and in the presence of high costs of competing sources, demand for wind power kits is at an all-time high.
Installation of wind power kits is however not enough to tap all the benefits of wind power. Such installation needs to be done correctly, and hence, help from a manual should be taken. How to wire the kit, the necessary safety features, the availability of free batteries as well as that of the other accessories (at a cheap price) is all discussed in such a manual. Information on the best place to install such a kit should also be provided in the manual. Information such as these is extremely helpful while setting up your home wind power kit. So go ahead and read the manual to get all the information so that you can use a home wind power kit to your advantage.

RIP JO PA

Fired Penn State coach Joe Paterno dead at 85

STATE COLLEGE, Pa. (AP) — Joe Paterno, the longtime Penn State coach who won more games than anyone in major college football but was fired amid a child sex abuse scandal that scarred his reputation for winning with integrity, died Sunday. He was 85.
His family released a statement Sunday morning to announce his death: "His loss leaves a void in our lives that will never be filled."
"He died as he lived," the statement said. "He fought hard until the end, stayed positive, thought only of others and constantly reminded everyone of how blessed his life had been. His ambitions were far reaching, but he never believed he had to leave this Happy Valley to achieve them. He was a man devoted to his family, his university, his players and his community."
Paterno built his program on the credo "Success with Honor," and he found both. The man known as "JoePa" won 409 games and took the Nittany Lions to 37 bowl games and two national championships. More than 250 of the players he coached went on to the NFL.
"He will go down as the greatest football coach in the history of the game," Ohio State coach Urban Meyer said after his former team, the Florida Gators, beat Penn State 37-24 in the 2011 Outback Bowl.
Paterno's son Scott said on Nov. 18 that his father was being treated for lung cancer. The cancer was diagnosed during a follow-up visit for a bronchial illness. A few weeks after that revelation, Paterno also broke his pelvis after a fall but did not need surgery.
Paterno had been in the hospital since Jan. 13 for observation for what his family had called minor complications from his cancer treatments. Not long before that, he conducted his only interview since losing his job, with The Washington Post. Paterno was described as frail then, speaking mostly in a whisper and wearing a wig. The second half of the two-day interview was conducted at his bedside.
"As the last 61 years have shown, Joe made an incredible impact," said the statement from the family. "That impact has been felt and appreciated by our family in the form of thousands of letters and well wishes along with countless acts of kindness from people whose lives he touched. It is evident also in the thousands of successful student athletes who have gone on to multiply that impact as they spread out across the country."
The final days of Paterno's Penn State career were easily the toughest in his 61 years with the university and 46 seasons as head football coach.
It was because Paterno was a such a sainted figure — more memorable than any of his players and one of the best-known coaches in all of sports — that his downfall was so startling. During one breathtaking week in early November, Paterno was engulfed by a scandal and forced from his job, because he failed to go to the police in 2002 when told a young boy was molested inside the football complex.
"I didn't know which way to go ... and rather than get in there and make a mistake," he said in the Post interview.
Jerry Sandusky, the former defensive coordinator expected to succeed Paterno before retiring in 1999, was charged with sexually assaulting 10 boys over 15 years. Two university officials stepped down after they were charged with perjury following a grand jury investigation of Sandusky. But attention quickly focused on an alleged rape that took place in a shower in the football building, witnessed by Mike McQueary, a graduate assistant at the time.
McQueary testified that he had seen Sandusky attacking the child and that he had told Paterno, who waited a day before alerting school authorities. Police were never called and the state's top cop later said Paterno failed to execute his moral responsibility by not contacting police.
"You know, (McQueary) didn't want to get specific," Paterno said in the Post interview. "And to be frank with you I don't know that it would have done any good, because I never heard of, of, rape and a man. So I just did what I thought was best. I talked to people that I thought would be, if there was a problem, that would be following up on it."
On the morning of Nov. 9, Paterno said he would retire following the 2011 season. He also said he was "absolutely devastated" by the abuse case.
"This is a tragedy," the coach said. "It is one of the great sorrows of my life. With the benefit of hindsight, I wish I had done more."
But the university trustees faced a crisis, and in an emergency meeting that night, they fired Paterno, effective immediately. Graham Spanier, one of the longest-serving university presidents in the nation, also was dismissed.
According to Lanny Davis, an attorney retained by the trustees as an adviser, board vice chairman John Surma regretted having to tell Paterno the decision over the phone.
The university handed the football team to one of Paterno's assistants, Tom Bradley, who said Paterno "will go down in history as one of the greatest men, who maybe most of you know as a great football coach."
Thick, smoky-lens glasses, rolled up khakis, jet-black sneakers, blue windbreaker — Paterno was easy to spot on the sidelines. His teams were just as easy to spot on the field; their white helmets and classic blue and white uniforms had the same old-school look as the coach.
Paterno believed success was not measured entirely on the field. From his idealistic early days, he had implemented what he called a "grand experiment" — to graduate more players while maintaining success on the field.
He was a frequent speaker on ethics in sports, a conscience for a world often infiltrated by scandal and shady characters.
His teams consistently ranked among the best in the Big Ten for graduating players. As of 2011, it had 49 academic All-Americans, the third-highest among schools in the Football Bowl Subdivision. All but two played under Paterno.
"He teaches us about really just growing up and being a man," former linebacker Paul Posluszny, now with the NFL's Jacksonville Jaguars, once said. "Besides the football, he's preparing us to be good men in life."
Paterno certainly had detractors, as well. One former Penn State professor called his high-minded words on academics a farce. He was criticized for making broad critiques about the wrongs in college football without providing specifics. A former administrator said his players often got special treatment compared to non-athletes. His coaching style often was considered too conservative. Some thought he held on to his job too long. There was a push to move him out in 2004 but it failed.
But the critics were in the minority, and his program was never cited for major NCAA violations. However, the child sexual abuse scandal prompted separate investigations by the U.S. Department of Education and the NCAA into the school's handling.
Paterno played quarterback and cornerback for Brown University and set a defensive record with 14 career interceptions, a distinction he boasted about to his teams all the way into his 80s. He graduated in 1950 with plans to go to law school. He said his father hoped he would someday be president.
When he was 23, a former coach at Brown was moving to Penn State to become the head coach and persuaded Paterno to come with him as an assistant.
"I had no intention to coach when I got out of Brown," Paterno said in 2007 at Beaver Stadium in an interview before being inducted into the Hall of Fame. "Come to this hick town? From Brooklyn?"
In 1963, he was offered a job by the late Al Davis — $18,000, triple his salary at Penn State, plus a car to become general manager and coach of the AFL's Oakland Raiders. He said no. Rip Engle retired as Penn State head coach three years later, and Paterno took over.
At the time, the Lions were considered "Eastern football" — inferior — and Paterno courted newspaper coverage to raise the team's profile. In 1967, PSU began a 30-0-1 streak.
But Penn State couldn't get to the top of the polls. The Lions finished second in 1968 and 1969 despite perfect records. They went 12-0 in 1973 and finished fifth. Texas edged them in 1969 after President Richard Nixon, impressed with the Longhorns' bowl performance, declared them No. 1.
"I'd like to know," Paterno said later, "how could the president know so little about Watergate in 1973, and so much about college football in 1969?"
A national title finally came in 1982, in a 27-23 win over Georgia at the Sugar Bowl. Penn State won another in 1986 after the Lions picked off Vinny Testaverde five times and beat Miami 14-10 in the Fiesta Bowl.
They have made several title runs since then, including a 2005 run to the Orange Bowl and an 11-1 campaign in 2008 that earned them a berth in the Rose Bowl, where they lost 37-23 to Southern California.
In his later years, physical ailments wore the old coach down. Paterno was run over on the sideline during a game at Wisconsin in November 2006 and underwent knee surgery. He hurt his hip in 2008 demonstrating an onside kick.
An intestinal illness and a bad reaction to antibiotics prescribed for dental work slowed him for most of the 2010 season. Paterno began scaling back his speaking engagements that year, ending his summer caravan of speeches to alumni across the state.
Then a receiver bowled over Paterno at practice in August, sending him to the hospital with shoulder and pelvis injuries and consigning him to coach much of the season from the press box.
"The fact that we've won a lot of games is that the good Lord kept me healthy, not because I'm better than anybody else," Paterno said two days before he won his 409th game and passed Eddie Robinson of Grambling State for the most in Division I. "It's because I've been around a lot longer than anybody else."
Paterno could be conservative on the field, especially in big games, relying on the tried-and-true formula of defense, the running game and field position.
"They've been playing great defense for 45 years," Iowa coach Kirk Ferentz said in November.
Paterno and his wife, Sue, raised five children in State College. Anybody could telephone him at his modest ranch home — the same one he appeared in front of on the night he was fired — by looking up "Paterno, Joseph V." in the phone book.
He walked to home games and was greeted and wished good luck by fans on the street. Former players paraded through his living room for the chance to say hello. But for the most part, he stayed out of the spotlight.
Paterno did have a knack for joke. He referred to Twitter, the social media, as "Twittle-do, Twittle-dee."
He also could be abrasive and stubborn, and had his share of run-ins with his bosses or administrators. And as his legend grew, so did the attention to his on-field decisions, and the questions about when he would retire.
Calls for his retirement reached a crescendo in 2004. The next year, Penn State went 11-1 and won the Big Ten. In the Orange Bowl, PSU beat Florida State, whose coach, Bobby Bowden, left the Seminoles after the 2009 season after 34 years and 389 wins.
Like many others, he was outlasted by "JoePa."

Maximizing you wind generator for maximum power

Today their are many vendors on the market claiming that they have the "best" generators on the market for every imaginable condition on the planet. Usually it is one product. Buyer should be aware that depending on the factors such as the winding wire Ga of the wind generator in the stator. The Enginerring of the rotor air gap and any number of other factors that companies do not mention may make or break your wind power project. Besure to consult someone who "knows" what they are doing before you buy.......

More about the extorionist that make it up as they go to extort businesses

Accusations that Rip-Off Report just an Extortion Business

49
0
One of the most interesting stories to catch my eyes in the last few months was this exposé from Chris Bennet at 97th Floor - Google, Your Honeymoon with Rip Off Report Has to Stop. Looking through Chris' detailed research into the practices of the website and perusing some of the appalling accusations made about the business and its founder, it's shocking that the domain continues to retain its authority.
Here's the basic gist of Chris' arguments:
  1. The website - Rip Off Report - essentially earns a living through extortion of businesses based on the search results (almost like a reverse reputation management campaign).
  2. Because the site ranks well at Google (Yahoo!, Live, and Ask appear not to give it as much weight), companies whose profiles appear on the site must pay the owner to have the information removed or have administrative comments added that an issue was resolved or the complaint was found to be false.
  3. It would appear that content creators unfamiliar with the English language, yet very familiar with keyword stuffing, create many of the negative profiles on the site (ostensibly to help them rank better in the search engines so they will have a greater negative impact on the businesses they list).
  4. The site even features bizarre allegations (supposedly from a 16 year old girl) that Google's founders propositioned her and another underage girl.
Certainly, if you visit the site (which I won't link to directly), you'll note the exaggerated style and tone of the content suggests a less-than-professional organization. The site proudly claims not to investigate the comments left by its visitors, and one is forced to wonder if Rip Off Report will truly investigate once a business pays them (or whether they simply remove the listing or add their "all's well" commentary).
Beyond the ethics, I have to say that it's a fascinating business model from an SEO perspective - integrating the negative linkbait pull of trashing a business or person as a link acquisition technique, using the link weight to rank well for company names, then forcing them to pay in order to "mitigate" their bad publicity through search engines. Honestly, I'm surprised that someone like Matt Cutts hasn't taken action against the site - it would seem to fit well within his usual definition of manipulating Google.
I think more investigation of the site might be warranted - just a few quick searches led me down a fascinating tale of dodged court appearances, paranoia, default judgments, and violent threats. Here's a few gems:
  • The Phoenix Sun Times - The Real Rip Off Report - the reporter's meeting with ROR's owner is almost hard to believe, and the number of businesses paying thousands each month (if accurate) make this one of the most profitable black/gray hat SEO concepts I've ever heard.
  • Eric Goldman - Rip Off Report Gets Mixed Ruling - it would appear that the site does have the ability to operate legally, though Chris' blog post certainly suggests that the owners themselves are behind much of the content (and thus would have to answer for it). That portion of the case (suggesting that the owners created the libelous content) is still proceeding in Arizona.
  • A video from Florida - WSVN on Rip-Off Report - showing fairly compelling evidence that the site does indeed extort businesses by offering to turn bad reports into positive ones for a fee.
BTW - I'm not sure why Chris didn't mention it, but as far as Google's TOS violations go, it would appear that they're also selling paid link advertising and passing link juice (the banners in the top right corners don't have nofollows).

Rip off report is the only rip off....extortionist with made up garbage from their moderators

Public Spam Report: Google Your Honeymoon with Rip Off Report has to Stop

*Update* New links at the bottom to some really good cases against Rip Off Report
Before You Jump to any conclusions, I am not saying sites that warn consumers of true scams and rip offs are bad, I think they are very very good. I love the Internet because it levels the playing field for small businesses and individuals to compete with big business. Before the Internet that was impossible. However, I do not think that there should be a place in Google’s search results for a company that does nothing to scan or proof read their “User Generated Content” and that also blatantly spams and violates Google’s TOS. This Brings me to the current marriage of Google and Rip Off Report.
I am sure you are all familiar with Rip Off Report, it is by far the largest database of complaints about businesses, individuals and pretty much anything on the planet from religion to government all the way to Racist remarks. Rip Off Report has been accused of all sorts of shady things, racketeering, black mail and rip offs. I am not going to get into the lawsuits against it’s owner Ed Magedsonon or any of the many allegations of what appears to be shady practices. What I am going to get into is how they are being leveraged to manipulate Google’s search results and how Google is fueling their questionable business.
Rip Off Report thrives off of ranking in Google’s search results, I would say that the only reason they are so popular is because of the relationship they have with Google’s search results. According to Compete.com Rip Off Report receives roughly 606,439 referrals from Google’s search results each month. I bet you wish your site got that many referrals from Google each month, in fact I would say most sites on the net don’t. From October 2007 until now (Jan 2008) those referrals have come from 5,761 different search keywords. Again this is according to Compete. I was curious about how Yahoo and Live treat Rip Off Report in their search results. I don’t think that you will find the results surprising as Google can tend to favor and love certain domains where as Yahoo and Live don’t play favorites as often.
I ran a ranking report on the first 89 keywords that Compete said where their top referring search terms. Here are the results you can download the PDF here

Interesting information on Alaskan oil exploration drilling

If you won't mind paying $5.00 a gallon in the very near future try to make sense of the following:

Something you should know: Oil!!
This is the best presentation on ANWR I have seen.
I would like to add a little more information. A new pipeline across
Alaska isn't required since the location for drilling in ANWR is about
160 miles from the North Slope Prudhoe Bay pipeline where it would
Be connected. I did not know this.
Second the wildlife love the pipeline since it is heated and provides a
Shelter during the worst times during the winter.
Maybe another question should be asked. FIRST do you know what
ANWR is? ANSWER: Arctic National Wildlife Refuge.
Now A comparison
And some perspective?
NOTE WHERE THE PROPOSED
DEVELOPMENT AREA IS?
(it's in the "ANWR Coastal Plain")
ISN'T ANWR BEAUTIFUL? WHY
SHOULD WE DRILL HERE
(AND DESTROY) THIS BEAUTIFUL
PLACE?
WELL THAT'S NOT EXACTLY
THE TRUTH
Do you remember the map?
The map showed that the proposed
Drilling area is in the ANWR Coastal
Plain. Do those photographs look like a
Coastal plain to you?
WHAT'S GOING ON HERE?
THE ANSWER IS SIMPLE
THAT IS NOT WHERE THEY ARE
WANTING TO DRILL!
THIS IS WHAT THE PROPOSED
EXPLORATION AREA ACTUALLY
LOOKS LIKE IN THE WINTER
AND THIS IS WHAT IT ACTUALLY
LOOKS LIKE IN THE SUMMER
HERE ARE A COUPLE SCREEN
SHOTS FROM GOOGLE EARTH
AS YOU CAN SEE, THE AREA
WHERE THEY ARE TALKING ABOUT
DRILLING IS A BARREN WASTELAND.
OH AND THEY SAY THAT THEY
ARE CONCERNED ABOUT THE EFFECT
ON THE LOCAL WILDLIFE?
HERE IS A PHOTO (SHOT DURING THE
SUMMER) OF THE
"DEPLETED WILDLIFE" SITUATION
CREATED BY DRILLING AROUND
PRUDHOE BAY *
DON'T YOU THINK THAT THE CARIBOU
REALLY HATE THAT DRILLING?
HERE'S THAT SAME SPOT DURING
THE WINTER.
HEY, THIS BEAR SEEMS TO REALLY
HATE THE PIPELINE NEAR
PRUDHOE BAY *
